My dearest CAST,
It has been a real long holiday - and filled with our rehearsals in between.
Just want to share some reflections before school starts on Monday :)
*Really proud of all of you for putting in so much effort into the play. I've seen how each of you have opened up - right from the first day of rehearsals to the one we had a few days ago. Even during warmups, I'm encouraged to see how each of you improved in the "Blind Trust Stage Walk" to the "HEY DUDE!", etc.
*It takes effort and commitment from EACH and EVERYONE of us to put a play together. Everyone is equally important, no matter which role you may take - large roles, or small roles, lines to remember, or no lines to remember. Once you're on stage, spotlights will be on you, and we need each other in order, to cooperate, to understand each other, to try our best, for a passionate play - that will touch the audiences' hearts.
*Most of you have put in loads of hard work in memorizing the lines (esp our Farizuan - great job - keep it going), to your facial expressions (look into the audience's eyes!), to the positioning on the stage (45 degrees!!!), to the body language, right down to each and every second on stage, and each and every movement. It is not easy, but if we try, we persevere, we will get there. We're already at the halfway mark, so STARBURST-IANS, we can do it!
*When school reopens, there will be a whirlwind of work for us to do, and each of you will have to remember, to try to balance your studies, the play, your cca, your HEALTH, and how you choose to spend your time. The teachers will be here for you, and your friends, and each of you in the cast - I hope, will be supporting each other along the way.
*As we embark on a new semester, and as we continue our rehearsals full-swing, let's be encouraged by each other, and each of us to be committed to doing our best - for a good show!
*Stay tuned to wearing your costumes all over the school, to other schools, to selling tickets, to exciting everyone to watch our play, for this experience of your life in Yuying Secondary.
